Dick Cheney is a former Chief of Staff of the President. He also served in Congress as secretary of defense. Cheney is a man with integrity and is respected by Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney declared that he perceives his role within that of Bush administration as one of a candid however, a discreet advisor. Cheney said that when he accepted the Republican nomination for vice president Cheney was looking forward to working with a president who worked across party lines and work with political rivals to achieve common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941. He was the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. When he turned 13 old, he made the move along with his parents into Casper in the western part of Wyoming, where his father directed the district for soil conservation in Casper to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
