Jenna Fischer was best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. The role she played brought her an Emmy nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category. In addition, she won two SAG Awards, both for exceptional performances in an ensemble cast in a comedy.
Jenna was raised in Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna was inspired by her mom's worship services when she first started out.
Fischer was a theatre actress trained in her native country. The Off-Broadway production Reasons to Be Happy composed by Neil LaBute with Josh Hamilton and Leslie Bibb as co-stars, Fischer was a part of. The Old Globe Theatre's world premiere, she starred alongside Greg Germann as well as Josh Stamberg in Steve Martin's absurdist comedy Meteor Shower.
In October of 2019, Fischer and The Office co-star and best friend in real life Angela Kinsey launched the podcast Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to been a huge success, landing on the Top Ten globally every week and registering more than 200 million downloads in its initial two years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
The Actor's Life was her debut book that describes the path she traveled starting in St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood, where she became a professional actress. The second book, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is an autobiography of her best friend and their experience working in The Office.
